Stian Eismann

08/09/2023

"Changes", the debut album from Stian Eismann, consists of seven self-composed tracks, based on rhythmic concepts crafted behind the drum kit. The music has a whimsically playful melodic expression within a rhythmic framework that draws inspiration from the jazz tradition.

The band met at the jazz program at NTNU in Trondheim, and its members have backgrounds in bands such as Cecilie Grundt Quintet, Petter Wettre Next Generation 2.0, Trondheim Jazz Orchestra + GURLS, Kjetil Jerve Trio, PAM, and Peders Hode.

The album was recorded at Nyhavna studio in Trondheim, with Åsmund Arnesson Rise and Mathias Unhjem Rognskog handling the technical aspects and mixing, and Sondre Christoffersen in charge of mastering. The photo is by Joakim Rainer Petersen.
